Catherine Booth
Former Senior Vice President: Information Services, Loblaw Companies

Catherine Booth has recently joined Loblaws Companies as the Senior Vice President of their Information Services Department.
Before this, she was the Vice President of Information Technology for Canadian Tire Corporation’s Retail division. She was responsible for the I.T. that enables retailing at more than 455 stores, including store systems, marketing, merchandising, store support, supply chain, and finance. She oversaw the delivery of business-driven I.T. strategy, architecture, project delivery, maintenance, enhancement, and operations.
Prior to joining Canadian Tire, Catherine was a Vice President at Capgemini, a global consulting, technology, and outsourcing services provider, where she specialized in implementing very large business and technology initiatives. She was responsible for one of their largest Canadian clients, and led the Canadian Technology Strategy Practice.
Catherine joined Capgemini’s predecessor firm, Ernst & Young, in 1995, as a member of the Consumer Products and Retail consulting team. She became a partner at Ernst & Young in 1998. Catherine began her career at DMR Group, a Canadian systems integrator. During her consulting career, she worked with a broad range of clients in the retail, consumer products, financial services, insurance, entertainment, and public sectors.
Catherine also serves on a wide range of corporate and not-for-profit boards. Catherine is on the Board of Trustees of the United Way of Greater Toronto and the Executive Committee of the Toronto International Film Festival’s Capital Campaign, and is a Director of The Timberland Group, a privately held manufacturing firm. In the past, she served on the Boards of the Arts Foundation of Greater Toronto, the New Horizons Systems Services joint venture, and the Ontario Courts Management Advisory Committee.
Appointed an Industry Professor at McMaster University in 2005, Catherine teaches graduate level courses in Project Management. Catherine is a frequent speaker at various industry and community events.
She was one of Canada’s Top 40 Under 40™ in 2003 and received an Alumni Achievement Medal from the University of Waterloo in 2005.
Catherine is an engineer with a Bachelors Degree in Systems Design and a Masters Degree in Management Sciences from the University of Waterloo. She is also a Certified Management Consultant.”
